Thompson Discount Movers has been in business in Palestine, TX since 1965. Jack Thompson owned the company from 1990 to early 2022, having taken over day-to-day operations from his father in 1998. Current owners Daniel and Kati Thomas continue the local moving company’s strong commitment to its customers and its community.

In 2022, Thompson Discount Movers became an authorized interstate agent for Bekins Van Lines, Inc., after having previously been an award-winning agent for both American Red Ball World Wide Movers and Stevens Worldwide Van Lines.
With each van line network, Thompson Discount Movers drivers have received many awards for compliance with all safety policies, accident-free miles, low claims, and excellent customer service records. The Bekins network received the American Trucking Associations Moving & Storage Conference’s 2021 Fleet Safety Award in the Over 10 Million Miles category, so Thompson Discount Movers is part of the safest network in the country for its size.

ProMover is a certification program that gives consumers an easy way to separate reputable, professional movers from “rogue operators.” The ProMover certification takes the worry and the hassle out of moving by helping consumers identify professional movers who have agreed to abide by high standards and by providing information and assistance with everything from finding a mover, to getting an estimate and packing tips, to understanding valuation and insurance.
